Live Sculpting at Aura Copeland Gallery

An Evening of Material, Form, and Connection

At Aura Copeland Gallery in Downtown Miami, I brought my sculpting process into the gallery, offering visitors a close look at a feminine form taking shape. Working live with papier-mâché, coffee, and mixed media, I shared the gradual building of a surface through touch and layering.

My sculptures give a second life to materials that have been consumed or discarded. Reworked into human forms, these materials become a way to explore vulnerability, resilience, and the relationship between what we carry and what we become.

Sharing this process opened a conversation around the work while it was still unfolding. The evening brought a usually private part of my practice into a shared space, allowing visitors to connect with the materials, the making, and the person behind it.

Thank you to Aura Copeland Gallery and everyone who joined me for an evening of curiosity and connection.

Painting and Sculpture in Dialogue

Alongside the sculpture I was developing live, two of my paintings and two completed sculptures were already on display at the gallery. Together, they revealed the connection between the layered terrain of my paintings and the curves of my sculptural forms. Texture, earth tones, and reclaimed materials carried that conversation across the works, exploring memory, resilience, and transformation. Seeing finished pieces alongside a work in progress offered visitors a fuller understanding of my practice, from the first gestures of making to the final form.
